Destination Imagination (DI)
Destination Imagination is a non-profit, global organization fostering creative problem solving and service in children of all ages. I have been part of this organization for over a decade and with my team addressed several real-world challenges within my community and have competed at regional, state and global level competitions. We would spend hours turning trash to mind blowing, interactive props for our skits and learned to quickly think on our feet and collaborate with peers during instant challenges. I have so many wonderful memories of the service projects we did helping refugees, hurricane victims, homeless shelters, differently-abled children and local food banks. The learning from this experience will influence the way I approach problem-solving in school and even in my future career!
